  • Alimentazione “attenta all’ambiente”
  • Viaggi sostenibili

E naturalmente, chi avesse idee o suggerimenti aggiuntivi, è invitato a twittarli inserendo l’hashtag #ziek.

#ziek: energy saving in Germany

The German government wants to get serious. That’s why it tries to involve as many people as possible in its campaign on energy saving, and tries to do it with irony.

It ‘a “shock” video that quickly became viral the one with which the German Ministry of Environment, presented its new campaign Zusammen Ist Es Klimaschutz” (protection of the climate is done together) abbreviated as” #ziek “for the use and consumption of social media enthusiasts.

The idea beneath the campaign is that every little gesture made by every single person would be, from an aggregate point of view, a huge achievement in the field of energy saving. The ultimate goal is to help contain the rise in global temperatures within two degrees Celsius, the measure established by the experts as the maximum limit to be reached in terms of the planet’s global warming. The goal of Germany is clear: to be one of the “industrialized” countries which reduces by 2020 emissions of greenhouse gases by at least 40 percent compared to 1990.

The communication campaign developed by Tinkerbelle and  fairkehr, refers to the individual responsibility in everyday life and encourages a slow and gradual change, leading citizens to act by osmosis. That’s why the communication campaign mainly consists in videos and messages designed with the aim of becoming viral, so that people are encouraged to share them with friends, family and colleagues.

The ideas to implement small concrete actions that allow energy saving in everyday life are numerous: turning off the light when not in use, putting the lid on the pot when cooking, reducing air flows in living spaces to reduce consumption (and the resulting costs) of heating, only to name a few. In order to illustrate them all, the campaign web site investigates each week a theme linked to one of the following five categories:

– “Environmentally conscious” nutrition

– Environmental living (with particular reference to the precautions that one can take home and in the workplace to save energy)

– Environmental gifts (theme developed especially in the period before the holiday season)

– Sustainable mobility

– Sustainable Travel

And of course, anyone who has additional ideas or suggestions, is invited to tweet them inserting the hashtag #ziek.
